"More reliable perhaps are the newer police methods to break up the rhythmic chanting of mobs before this sloganeering becomes an incantation. Chanting and other rhythmic activities are seen by several people as self-induced forms of mass hypnotism designed to encourage people to lose their individuality, and thus become susceptible to mass control. Leaders who use these methods or add to it with bull horns, drums or cymbals should be quickly ejected from the crowd."
